Community Action Ride System (CARS) event slated for Joplin’s Landreth Park Saturday

Join the Economic Security corporation for a community event hosted by Community Action Ride System (CARS) today at Joplin’s Landreth Park from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The event, open to the public will feature:

* Food trucks serving delicious food;
* Bounce houses to keep the kids entertained and bouncing with joy;
* Over 20 area non-profits coming together to showcase their work and support for the community;
* Fun-filled kids activities to spark creativity and laughter and;
* Giveaways to leave you feeling lucky and grateful;

The ESC will be launching the CARS initiative and local citizens are encouraged to be part of this community connection and action.

The effort hopes to provide free transportation opportunities for people who live in Jasper, Newton, Barton and McDonald counties.

“CARS will feature volunteer drivers and we’ll reimburse those drivers at the federal mileage rate,” says Cavenaugh Studyvin of the Economic Security Corporation.
