Missouri Mother's Conviction Overturned

A Missouri mother says she should have never been prosecuted for her role in a MySpace hoax directed at a 13-year-old girl who ended up committing suicide.

A federal judge has tentatively thrown out Lori Drew's convictions.

In a statement read on NBC's ``Today'' show Friday, Drew says she agreed with U.S. District Judge George Wu's decision. She says the case was properly dismissed, because she did not do what prosecutors accused her of doing.

Prosecutors say Drew sought to humiliate Megan Meier by helping create a fictitious teen boy on the social networking site and sending flirtatious messages to the girl in his name. The fake boy then dumped her.

She hanged herself in October 2006 in the St. Louis suburb of Dardenne Prairie, Mo.
