Born in Alton, Illinois, Darrin Wright came to KZRG in April 2011, and has been working in radio since 2001, though he’s only been paid for it since 2003. Over that time he served as a News Director for four years for a radio group in central Illinois, launching a successful online newspaper in the process, before spending over three years near Nashville, TN working as a producer for a highly popular and widely-known syndicated radio program. While he’s most known for news, his real passions are his wife Lori, his friends, and technology; Darrin’s an avid fan of video games and computers, acknowledging the fact that “growing older is mandatory, but growing up is optional”.
Joe Lancello joined the KZRG News Team in August 2010. Joe’s worked in news in Hayward and Shawano, WI, Hibbing, Warroad and Thief River Falls, MN, Huntsville, AL and Nashville. He has also worked as a play-by-play broadcaster for College Sports Southeast and sports producer at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Joe should be easy to spot as one of the few Minnesota Twins and Vikings fans in the Four States. He also follows English soccer fanatically and gets frequent reminders there’s a pro team in Kansas City.
Believe it or not, Wetherbee is his real last name! And at six-foot-nine, he acquired the nick name “Big John”. His name and voice are familiar to audiences all over the country for years as a radio personality, program director and general manager. John is a sealed and certified meteorologist. But his greatest love is home and the music. He’s also a huge Elvis fan. John and his wife are proud parents of three daughters and two sons-in-law, all working toward graduate degrees. His household also includes a dog, two cats and three fish. John keeps you ahead of the storm 24/7 on NewsTalk KZRG!
